Choosing
a charcoal BBQ grill
Charcoal barbecue grills are a wonderful convenience for backyard
cooking and entertainment, as well as camping. They are also
handy during power outages. However, there is a significant
difference in quality so here are some tips on choosing a
charcoal barbecue grill.
Step 1 - To study the construction of the
barbecue grill for the type of metal used. Cheap metals interact
with the heat of the cooking, and the time and is rapidly
oxidized. Cheap metals that are painted will flake along with
the rusting. Stainless steel has been a standard kitchen utensils
for many, many years. It is not affected by the heat nor rust.
Step 2 - Choose a barbecue charcoal grill
with a lid. A lid is needed to keep the heat inside the grill.
This will allow you to grill food quickly and evenly before
the meat dries out. The lid is also useful for the occasional
flare-up.
Step 3 - Find the devices that help the barbecue
chef. The rack should be adjustable, as some foods should
be farther from the heat source than others. The charcoal
grill should be on wheels for ease in moving around the yard
or taking to the park or camping. Side trays are a wonderful
convenience to place utensils and sauces, and food dish, waiting
their turn to be grilled.
Step 4 - Look at the grill design for ease
of cleaning, especially if you are grilling frequently. It
should be easy to get to the ashes and clean the area.
Step 5 - Select a charcoal barbecue grill
that has a cooking surface big enough for the number of people
in your family. Do not count warming racks. Observe the actual
cooking surface on the fire and decide what size would be
needed to barbecue a meal, such as meat, corn on the cob,
and foil-wrapped potatoes. |
